Raised on a Texas farm and ranch, PC Ronan grew up in the kind of quiet that lets a kid’s imagination run wild. While other children collected baseball cards, he collected stories—scribbling them in notebooks, on scrap paper, and occasionally on things that were not meant for writing. By the time he left Texas for college in the Midwest and later earned his master’s degree out west, he had already spent years chasing characters, building worlds, and discovering that ideas tend to show up whether you’re ready for them or not.
Though he’s an outdoorsman at heart—someone who still feels at home under open skies, in forests, or anywhere the world gets a little untamed—writing has always been the truer compass. His stories blend dry humor with a romantic streak he pretends isn’t obvious, and a touch of mystery that suggests he knows more than he’s letting on. Friends say he carries secrets the way other people carry house keys: casually, but always within reach.
Now living in the Chicago area with the love of his life and their two dogs, Ronan continues to write with one eye on the page and one eye on the horizon. The ideas still arrive unannounced. The stories still insist on being told. And he’s still happiest when he’s following them—whether they lead into the wilderness or somewhere far stranger.
